Vascular Reduction (Long Pulsed Yag Laser)
Using laser vascular reduction to treat spider veins and rosacea
Clearing spider veins, rosacea, and vascular redness from the face may be a concern that cannot be addressed with over-the-counter topical skincare products. Some conditions need the assistance of a medical professional to improve, and this is especially true when it comes to vascular concerns. At Kore MD Health and Wellness of Atlanta, Georgia, our double board-certified doctor, Dr. Nicole Battaglioli, is pleased to offer a solution with laser vascular reduction treatments.
What is laser vascular reduction?
Using a long-pulsed YAG laser device, Dr. Battaglioli can target and heat blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface, causing them to shrink and disappear. The natural hemoglobin in the blood vessels absorbs the laser energy, resulting in coagulation. This process ultimately leads to the destruction of the vessel, resulting in clear and smooth skin.
Who can benefit from laser vascular reduction?
Laser vascular reduction is an effective treatment for a variety of skin concerns, including:
Spider veins. These small, thin blue or red veins often appear on the face and legs. They may be caused by genetics, changes in hormonal balances, or sun exposure.
Rosacea. This is a chronic and problematic skin condition for some that cause redness and flushing in the center of the face, including the cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead. It may also result in visible blood vessels.
Vascular redness. This term encompasses a wide range of various skin conditions that cause visible redness, including telangiectasia (dilated small blood vessels), port wine stains, and cherry angiomas.
